Undergraduate Programs

Applicants are not allowed to apply to multiple programs during the same admission period.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Prelicensure program for entry into the nursing profession. The BSN program is open to California residents who are not registered nurses. Applicants may be: SF State students, transfer students, or others who seek a second baccalaureate degree. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared and eligible to take the national licensing exam to become a registered nurse (NCLEX-RN).

ADN-BSN

The ADN-BSN Program is a collaborative model for academic progression in Nursing between SF State School of Nursing and College of San Mateo. This program is designed for students who meet University general education and community partner degree requirements to earn both ADN degree from CSM and BSN degree from SF State in two and a half years through full-time study.

Accelerated Bachelor Science in Nursing (BSN-A)

Same as the regular BSN program but the Accelerated BSN Program is a four-semester program that includes the summer session (a 15-month program).

Summer 2019 Admission for Students who have earned BA/BS only.

Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing (ELM)

This prelicensure program is designed for students who possess a non-nursing bachelor’s degree and are seeking to enter the nursing profession. Graduates will earn a BSN and MSN degree.

Fall Entry Admission

Accelerated Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing (ELM-A)

This two year full-time cohort-based program, which includes summer sessions, is designed for students who possess a non-nursing bachelor’s degree and are seeking to enter the nursing profession. Graduates will earn a BSN and MSN degree.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

California RNs with bachelor's degrees in nursing with specialty options in administration, adult acute care, pediatrics, women's health, public/community health, or family nurse practitioner.

Fall Entry Admission 

Post Master's Certificate

Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate (FNP)

This program is designed for California RNs with a master's or doctoral degree in nursing and desire to become a nurse practitioner.
