Unsung Heroes: Nurses on the Frontlines

In commemoration of World AIDS Day, the SF State Nursing Alumni Association in collaboration with SF State AIDS Committee, presents; Unsung Heroes: Nurses on the Frontlines, a symposium and panel discussion to remember the unsung heroes who courageously cared for AIDS patients during the early days of the epidemic that was poorly understood and feared by the general public.

This CEU event will feature a panel discussion by nurses from SF General and Laguna Honda who led patient care efforts during the height of the AIDS epidemic. Panelists will share seldom heard stories from those working on the front lines.

The SF State AIDS Coordinating Committee will hold the 28th Annual SF State University World AIDS Day commemoration and memorial one hour prior to the CEU event at the SF State Memorial Grove (south of the Nassar Plaza – Gym).

All are invited to attend. We welcome persons with disabilities and will provide reasonable accommodations upon request by emailing nlarson@sfsu.edu by November 18th.

Attendance is free and open to all.

2 hours of CEU’s available (CEU’s are free for members of the nursing alumni association & $20 for non-alumni association members)
